Finally finished the Guest Room . . . maybe.

Patched the walls, a light sanding, and textured the walls. Twice. Then painted what turned out to be a horrid color on the walls. I was not happy with the texture and the paint color made it all that worse. I sprayed down the walls with water and scraped off the two layers of texture and paint. I then sprayed a much better even texture on the wall and proceeded to paint three coats of Glidden's "Timothy Hay" on the walls. Installed all the baseboard and trim and covered them with three coats of Glidden's "Oyster Shell". Painted the ceiling the same color. I then hand scrubbed the floors with Murphy's Oil Soap. I think they look so much better.

Real Estate neutral wall color with 1960's moulding that had seen better days indeed.

The doors to the closet will be put back on. Should they stay wood or nice coat of paint? Decisions.

New hardware on the door and electrical outlets and covers. Even replaced the light with a new GU24 fixture. So nice to have a crisp clean room in our home!

Save $$ on the Water Bill

First thing we did was switch out the six gallon behemoth of a toilet to a water saving model. What started out as an easy project turned into a late night and a long morning, five trips to the hardware store, four closet bolts lost to the crawlspace, two flanges, three wax rings, and five shims.

Dived in so fast we forgot to take a picture first.

Cleaning off the wax. It got everywhere.

Hubby havin' at it.

Finally done!
